Bensa Homasho coffee is produced in the Sidamo appellation, about 400 km south of Addis Ababa, under the watchful eye of the Moplaco group. This exporter, based in Addis Ababa, also manages sites in rural areas and closely monitors each step of the coffee’s preparation. Heleanna and her teams prepare a fully-washed coffee at the Bensa washing station. The cherries are collected from small farmers who grow their coffee nearby the village of Homasho, located in the vicinity of the station. It is processed in Addis Ababa by the Moplaco group, which ensures the highest level of coffee quality. Driven by the same high standards, Belco and Moplaco have been partners for over four years.
